Commandments
We know there are 10 commandments. But do we really? Exodus 20:2-17; Deuteronomy 5:6-21 In RCIA, we learned the 10 are (quoting Dt,GNB) Worship no god but me. Do not use my name for evil purposes. Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. Respect your father and your mother. Do not commit murder. Do not commit adultery. Do not steal. Do not accuse anyone falsely. Do not desire another man's wife .. do not desire his house ++ It seems like the Teachers are conveniently missing out Dt 5:8-9 ( Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth ) Stepping into any Catholic Church, you'll be welcomed by statues of Mother Mary, Jesus Christ and always the Crucifix hung right in the middle of the hall. I used to feel a sense of frustration as Jesus has already sacrificed his body and died for us. Why are we still putting him in torture by having such a statue?
